Team-Teach 6 Hour Foundation Refresher Course
Target Audience:
Low risk Service Setting working with adults and children displaying challenging behaviour. (Mainstream Secondary/Primary Schools, Nurseries, Children's Hospitals, Children/Adult Respite Care, Elderly Care etc). Please Note: Course members attending must have completed initial training within the last 3 years.
Course Description:
Reminder and updates on the following:
Background to Team-Teach - Understanding the 'holistic approach'.
The Legal Framework - Review of current legislation (service specific).
Understanding Aggression and Conflict.
How Feelings Drive Behaviours.
De-escalation and Defusing Aggressive Situations.
Personal Safety.
Physical Intervention.
Repair, Reflection and Review.
Participants will receive a Course Workbook and a Certificate.
Certification for this course is valid for 36 months.
